Astasia Lutova, a true gem of Russia's contemporary jazz scene, bandleader, arranger and composer, is an alumnus of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music. She has been celebrated as a laureate in international competitions over the years.

Lutova & Band, a musical collective of seven years, have introduced an array of "songbooks" dedicated to renowned jazz composers. The upcoming program, however, marks a distinct departure: it will explore not a particular author's oeuvre, but rather delve into the musical legacy of a singular Hollywood icon.

Мэрилин Монро (Marylin Monroe), the alluring actress, singer and cultural symbol, becomes the focal point of a new program. She was more than an actor - she was a cinematic legend whose magnetism has captivated generations.

The program may have some changes, but its overall duration remains 90 minutes with no intermission.

Understanding Монро requires revisiting her life story, reviewing her films and, above all, immersing oneself in her distinctive voice. She may never have officially termed herself a singer, but her renditions of «I Wanna Be Loved by You», «Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend», and «My Heart Belongs to Daddy» resonate universally.

Today, her songs live on in various soundtrack collections, as well as rare live performances, because she herself did not give many special concerts. The new The Marilyn Monroe Songbook will present these iconic tunes with a fresh, jazz-infused touch.
